System Administrator V (Azure/Kubernetes)

Location: Fully remote; support coverage is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time, Monday through Friday.

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 annually

What you will do

• Support application-facing administration across Azure Kubernetes clusters, WebLogic clusters, virtual machines, and related application components.
• Monitor application availability and troubleshoot application and platform interactions with USDA teams.
• Support deployments, configuration, patching, version coordination, and environment troubleshooting.
• Manage application-level SSL certificates, credentials, and lifecycle activities.
• Support backup and recovery procedures, recovery testing, dependency documentation, and disaster-recovery coordination.
• Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and maintain operational and security documentation.

Requirements

• Experience supporting federal or enterprise production system administration.
• Experience with cloud and container platforms, including Kubernetes or comparable orchestration.
• Experience with enterprise application servers such as WebLogic and Windows/Linux virtualized environments.
• Experience with SSL and certificate lifecycle management, credentials, availability troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and operational documentation.
• Must satisfy USDA personnel-security, suitability, PIV, training, and system-access requirements before performing access-dependent work.

Nice to have

• Azure and Kubernetes administration or support experience.
• WebLogic administration or support experience.
• Federal application availability and incident-response experience.
• Experience with RMF/ATO artifacts, vulnerability remediation, and disaster-recovery exercises.
