Senior Cloud Systems Administrator (Cloud)

Location: Hybrid in McLean, Virginia, United States; on-site support at hirify.global Headquarters three days per week

Salary: $145,000–$160,000 annually

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and IIS.
• Support Linux servers and monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and hosted applications.
• Implement infrastructure automation, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployments.
• Manage VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud-based virtualized environments.
• Perform patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, security hardening, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis while collaborating with developers, cybersecurity personnel, network engineers, and program stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
• At least five years of enterprise Windows Server administration experience and production Linux experience.
• Experience with PowerShell and Bash or Python, virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V, and DevOps tools and practices.
• Knowledge of Git, networking fundamentals, system monitoring, logging, performance management, troubleshooting, and security operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Federal government or Department of Defense environment experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with STIGs, NIST frameworks, cybersecurity best practices, and highly available hosting environments.
• Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, AWS, Azure, or related certifications.
