2027 Summer Healthcare Value Based Care Intern (Healthcare Consulting)

Location: Hybrid, principally in person, with work across offices in Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Massachusetts. Staff may work onsite at healthcare client locations.

Salary: $33.00–$36.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Support value-based healthcare projects through research, current-state process documentation, and identification of opportunities to improve efficiency, access, quality, and patient and provider experience.
• Assist with ambulatory operations projects involving physician practices, medical groups, and outpatient health system settings.
• Research care delivery and payment models and analyze quality, cost, utilization, care coordination, and readiness for alternative payment models.
• Support clinically integrated network and network strategy work, including provider trends, physician alignment, network performance, and growth opportunities.
• Analyze client and market data, identify operational insights, and assist with workflow redesign using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
• Prepare research findings, presentations, meeting materials, notes, and other client-ready deliverables while working with project teams and clients.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, health sciences, data analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Interest in healthcare consulting and areas such as value-based care, ambulatory operations, clinically integrated networks, physician alignment, healthcare analytics, process improvement, or health system strategy.
• Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills, including organizing quantitative and qualitative information and communicating findings clearly.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Staff working onsite at healthcare client locations may need to maintain required immunizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with data visualization, electronic health records, Lean, or Six Sigma concepts.
• Bilingual Japanese-English or Chinese-English candidates may qualify for an exception to the sponsorship requirement.
