Strategy Consultant (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Build financial and operational models to evaluate medical policy and utilization management strategies.
• Develop a procedure-code-level model for prior authorization cost savings, administrative costs, trends, and future projections.
• Extract and transform healthcare data into analysis-ready data layers.
• Partner with data engineering teams and translate technical data assets into actionable insights for clinical and operational stakeholders.
• Define and execute tactical steps for strategic initiatives, manage strategy projects, and present recommendations to business and market owners.
• Provide subject-matter expertise and informal guidance to strategy staff and junior team members.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in business, healthcare, economics, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant progressive strategic experience.
• Three to five or more years of experience in healthcare strategy, healthcare economics, clinical analytics, or a related consulting role; six years of related business or healthcare experience may also qualify.
• Two years of post-graduate experience in a strategy or management consulting firm or an internal healthcare strategy group.
• Strong data manipulation and modeling skills, including advanced SQL, Python or R, or complex Power BI/Tableau development.
• Knowledge of healthcare datasets such as claims, procedure codes, and cost-of-care data, plus utilization management, medical policy, EHR, ICD-10, and interoperability concepts.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, presentation, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
