Staff Technical Program Manager (IoT Hardware)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid work with two core office days per week. Occasional travel to the APAC region and periodic evening calls are required to align with partner teams across time zones.

Annual base pay: $134,900–$179,800, excluding potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead hardware programs from concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, production ramp, and mass production.
• Manage APAC-based JDM, ODM, development, and manufacturing partners through design reviews and key program milestones.
• Run waterfall and stage-gate hardware schedules across industrial design, mechanical and electrical engineering, schematics, layout, PCBA, tooling, and molding.
• Coordinate delivery schedules across hardware, firmware, software, and cloud teams using Agile and Scrum methods.
• Partner with supply chain, sourcing, production planning, quality, reliability, and regulatory teams on sourcing, certification, and product launch.
• Communicate risks, trade-offs, progress, and recommendations to technical teams and executive leadership while removing cross-functional roadblocks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical program management, systems architecture, or software/hardware engineering.
• 5+ years managing technical development lifecycles from concept to delivery using program management best practices.
• Experience managing APAC-based JDM, ODM, or contract manufacturing partners through the hardware NPI lifecycle, including on-site engagement.
• Experience delivering connected hardware devices paired with subscription or cloud services.
• Experience managing waterfall, stage-gate hardware schedules while working with software and cloud teams using Scrum or other Agile methods.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; willingness to travel occasionally to APAC and attend evening partner calls.

• Experience with supply chain, strategic sourcing, production planning, quality, reliability, regulatory, certification, and manufacturing ramp activities.
• Experience leading executive-level program reviews and escalations across hardware, software, and manufacturing stakeholders.
• Knowledge of IoT and security hardware, with experience working across hardware, firmware, software, and cloud teams.
