Maintenance Shop Technician B

Location: W Columbia, South Carolina, USA; onsite, full-time position.

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, chassis components, and fleet equipment.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air brake, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and light engine systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, line maintenance welding, and fabrication.
• Use electronic tools to identify malfunctions and complete repairs.
• Provide road service when necessary to return equipment to safe and efficient operation.
• Complete applicable company training programs and support drivers and fleet operations.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a technician role diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience or knowledge with light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles, including Class 1–5 and Class 7–8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous but not required.
