Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Location: West Wareham, Massachusetts, USA; onsite facility role. Requires rotating shifts and overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $34.90–$46.49 per hour

What you will do

• Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul mobile equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other heavy machinery.
• Repair diesel engines, emissions systems, transmissions, gearboxes, braking, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Inspect and test equipment after repair or assembly to verify performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Dismantle, reassemble, align, lubricate, and maintain industrial machinery using hand tools, hoists, jacks, cranes, and diagnostic equipment.
• Weld, solder, fabricate sheet-metal parts, and replace damaged or worn components.
• Schedule maintenance, maintain service records and parts inventory, and keep work areas clean and orderly.

Requirements

• At least four years of vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance experience, or two years of mechanical trade school training plus two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment such as front-end loaders and tractor-trailers.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have or quickly obtain Massachusetts 1C/2C/3A hoisting licenses.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use engine diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, work in varying weather conditions, at heights and in confined spaces, and wear a full-face respirator.
