Clinical Shift Coordinator Inpatient Surgical Care Unit Full Time Nights

Location: 10400 Haligus Rd, Huntley, Illinois, United States; onsite night shift

Salary: $38.50–$61.60 per hour

What you will do

• Coordinate inpatient surgical care, nursing assignments, patient placement, and daily unit operations during the night shift.
• Monitor unstable, complex, and high-risk patient conditions while ensuring patient safety and continuity of care.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, charges, documentation, equipment, life-safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead staff huddles and rounding, coach nurses and patient care staff, support onboarding, and contribute to performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians, managers, educators, patients, families, and other units to resolve issues and maintain effective care delivery.
• Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, patient satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory readiness initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least 3 years of RN experience.
• Active RN license in the State of Illinois required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification and telemetry competency.
• Basic computer knowledge and strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work within the Illinois Practice Act for Nursing and ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Practice.
• Ability to assess when an interpreter is needed and use interpreter services effectively.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Nursing.
• At least 2 years of experience in the relevant clinical specialty.
• NRN or specialty certification such as CV-RN, CHFN, CCRN, PCCN, CNML, or NE-BC.
• Specialty certification may be required within two years.
