Broker Consultant IV (Group Health Insurance)

What you will do

• Manage a book of brokers and provide consultation focused on education, strategy, and account service.
• Support broker meetings and relationships, including work with VIP brokers and vendors.
• Perform rate and renewal analysis, negotiate rates, secure new business, and maintain existing accounts.
• Process new business applications, plan changes, policy changes, endorsements, and open enrollment requests.
• Escalate carrier issues, resolve service problems, and coordinate approvals and follow-up communication.
• Mentor internal staff, provide performance feedback, maintain client records, and identify cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a group health insurance setting preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must hold a Life & Health license or obtain one within three months of hire.
• Knowledge of insured, minimum-premium, and self-insured funding arrangements, products, carrier plans, underwriting rules, and claims procedures.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to work independently and in a busy team environment.
