Auto Liability Claim Representative

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States; hybrid work model

Annual base salary: $67,000–$110,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Handle personal and business auto bodily injury claims from first notice of loss through resolution, settlement, and payment.
• Provide consistent customer communication, explain claim processes, set expectations, and follow through on commitments.
• Review coverage, policy conditions, exclusions, endorsements, benefits, eligibility, limits, and priority of coverage.
• Investigate liability, injuries, damages, wage loss, essential services, and contribution potential using statements, records, documentation, and expert resources.
• Establish reserves, maintain claim files, evaluate settlement values, negotiate within authority limits, and issue required correspondence.
• Coordinate represented and unrepresented claims, litigation plans, legal expenses, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of bodily injury liability claim handling or comparable liability claim handling experience; two years are preferred, or successful completion of the hirify.global Claim Representative training program.
• Working knowledge of claims handling, litigation, insurance contracts, investigation principles, medical information, valuation, and settlement techniques.
• Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, communication, analytical thinking, judgment, decision-making, negotiation, and organization.
• Insurance license acquisition and maintenance may be required, generally within three months of starting the role, along with continuing education.
