Associate PIP Claims Representative (Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: USD 48,000–73,000 per year

What you will do

• Receive assigned Personal Injury Protection and Medical Payment claims, verify coverage, and determine the appropriate course of action for claims up to $50,000.
• Set up claim files, establish reserves, investigate claims, analyze information, and apply medical cost containment strategies.
• Negotiate and settle non-litigated claims, process expenses and payments, explore subrogation opportunities, and close files.
• Document claim activity, maintain diary controls, prepare reports and check requisitions, and issue correspondence.
• Assign medical or other experts and arrange medical examinations when required.
• Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• At least one year of claims experience and one year of data entry experience.
• Knowledge of PIP laws, regulations, and medical cost containment requirements across multiple states.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile; travel is approximately 10% of working time.
• College degree preferred.
