Location: Richmond, Virginia; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, or a fully remote option depending on location. US work authorization is required. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
Salary: $78,000–$134,090 annual base salary, with the applicable range depending on U.S. location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Annual incentive plan eligibility may also apply.

What you will do
- Resolve moderate- to high-complexity and high-exposure claims arising from Program accounts.
- Analyze coverage, liability, damages, and insured exposure, and communicate coverage positions.
- Investigate losses, coordinate experts and outside counsel, and manage vendors and litigation.
- Negotiate and settle claims, including matters proceeding through mediation or litigation.
- Prepare reports, coverage position letters, reserves, recommendations, and case presentations for underwriters and senior claims leaders.
- Provide technical training and serve as a referral point for colleagues and external contacts; travel to mediations, trials, and conferences as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of claims-handling experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of 3 years as a Claims Examiner.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a claims adjuster license.
- Strong written and oral communication, analytical, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Industry designations such as INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, or CPCU.
- Industry training such as CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, or FDCC.
