OpenShift Platform Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$180,000 annually

What you will do

• Architect, provision, operate, upgrade, and decommission Red Hat OpenShift clusters across on-premises, virtualized, and major cloud environments.
• Design multi-tenant platforms with project isolation, network policies, quotas, RBAC, security context constraints, and autoscaling.
• Automate cluster lifecycle operations using OpenShift tooling, GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD platforms.
• Manage OpenShift networking, ingress, storage, monitoring, logging, tracing, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Harden platforms through image scanning, runtime protection, secret management, supply-chain security, and regulatory compliance.
• Enable application teams through self-service patterns, templates, documentation, troubleshooting, and technical mentorship.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience operating production container platforms, including at least 3 years with Red Hat OpenShift.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift internals, including operators, CRDs, RBAC, and networking.
• Strong Linux administration, networking, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD tools such as Tekton, Jenkins, or Argo CD.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go, plus experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, and container image security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Red Hat OpenShift Administration or Architect certification.
• Experience running OpenShift on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to OpenShift Service Mesh, Istio, or Linkerd.
• Experience with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, Argo CD, or Flux.
