Systems Administrator (Linux/Automation Focus)

Location: Niceville, Florida, United States; full-time, onsite. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Basic compensation listed for selected US locations: $130,000–$170,000 annually for Maryland, Virginia, and California; $120,000–$150,000 annually for Nevada. The listed salary ranges do not specify a rate for Florida.

What you will do

• Install, configure, optimize, and maintain enterprise Linux systems across bare-metal and virtualized environments.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, inventory structures, and automation workflows.
• Automate system provisioning, hardening, patching, configuration drift remediation, and DISA STIG verification.
• Support Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, VMware vSphere/vCenter, storage, networking hardware, and Windows services.
• Manage repositories, system updates, image baselines, centralized logging, monitoring, and security agents.
• Create SOPs, Ansible execution guides, and architecture and network diagrams for operational knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• At least 10 years of experience in systems administration or systems engineering.
• Technical bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Linux, including RHEL 7/8/9, LVM, systemd, firewalld, SELinux, and Bash or shell scripting.
• Production experience developing, testing, and debugging Ansible automation and administering VMware virtualization environments.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Capsule servers, automated Kickstart workflows, or SCAP tools.
• Experience applying DISA STIGs and working in DoD RMF-accredited environments.
• Knowledge of ACAS/Nessus, Trellix HBSS/EPO, DoD 8570/8140 certifications, RHCSA, RHCE, Linux+, networking, DREN, SDREN, and Windows Server services.
