Software Engineer Intern

Location: Fully onsite in Arlington, VA; Mount Laurel, NJ; or San Diego, CA. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Salary: $28.00–$34.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop, test, maintain, and modernize software applications and features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement capabilities and resolve defects.
• Write reliable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Integrate software components, REST APIs, and third-party technologies into existing systems.
• Support deployment and sustainment across cloud, secured air-gapped, and tactical environments.
• Create technical documentation and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, data science, cybersecurity, mathematics, or aeronautical engineering.
• Familiarity with Git, Linux-based environments, command-line tools, SQL, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, or OCI-compliant containers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Must be able to work fully onsite at one of the listed U.S. locations.

Nice to have

• Automation scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or upgrading software applications and services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevSecOps, and secure software development.
• Experience in Agile development environments and technical documentation.
