Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Seattle, Washington, or Chicago, Illinois, United States; travel to customer sites as needed.

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 base salary per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Own technical customer deployments from discovery and kickoff through data migration, configuration, integration, and go-live.
• Build and support integrations with customer ERP, PLM, MES, and other enterprise systems.
• Write production-quality code and develop solutions for customer-specific technical requirements.
• Map and validate data flows, troubleshoot synchronization, authentication, API, and payload issues, and investigate discrepancies.
• Configure procurement workflows covering supplier onboarding, approvals, RFQs, and purchase-order lifecycles.
• Partner with customer stakeholders and product and engineering teams to resolve blockers and improve repeatable deployment processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant software engineering, forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, customer engineering, or technical implementation experience.
• Strong software development skills and experience shipping production-quality code.
• Experience with modern web technologies, particularly TypeScript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of APIs, including API documentation, endpoint testing, authentication, and payload troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical teams and senior customer stakeholders.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise qualify as a U.S. person under applicable ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, data validation, and troubleshooting queries.
• Experience with manufacturing procurement processes such as MRP, sourcing, supplier quality, receiving, or three-way matching.
• Experience implementing, configuring, or integrating ERP, PLM, or MES systems.
• Background in aerospace, defense, space, energy, robotics, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or deployment strategy.
