Staff IT Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; most teams work from the office full time

Salary: $124,500–$201,300 per year, with potential bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Architect and lead scalable full-stack enterprise applications supporting finance initiatives.
• Define system architecture, data models, service boundaries, and integration patterns.
• Establish reusable AI patterns, including RAG pipelines, structured LLM workflows, evaluations, and guardrails.
• Drive complex initiatives from architecture through production rollout.
• Ensure reliability, security, observability, and performance across systems.
• Influence technical decisions, mentor senior engineers, and act as an escalation point for complex challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience and strong full-stack development expertise.
• Experience leading architectural design for complex systems and scaling cloud-native applications.
• Practical experience building AI-integrated systems with RAG, embeddings, tool or function calling, and evaluation patterns.
• Strong understanding of reliability, observability, and production operations.
• Current United States work authorization is required; transfer of an existing H-1B may be considered, while new visa sponsorship and future OPT/CPT sponsorship are not currently considered.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP, React, Node.js/NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Finance education or demonstrated finance domain experience.
