Technical Project Lead (Automotive/Defense)

Location: New Hudson, Michigan, United States; primarily office-based with occasional manufacturing support and outdoor work in an austere testing environment.

Salary: $92,600–$154,400 per year.

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate technical engineering initiatives within budget, schedule, and project requirements.
• Lead meetings with team leads, stakeholders, and clients to track requirements and delivery.
• Delegate work across project teams and sub-teams based on skills and experience.
• Maintain budgets, monitor performance, and report progress against key goals and contract requirements.
• Align project solutions with organizational goals, industry roadmaps, and emerging technologies.
• Support testing, evaluation, verification, validation, manufacturing, and prototype activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 6 years of post-graduation employment experience.
• Basic understanding of engineering program processes, systems engineering, systems safety, and safety-critical software.
• Knowledge of vehicle-system testing and validation, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Mechanical ability and willingness to work with hands in office, manufacturing, and testing environments.
• Applicants for certain positions may need to be U.S. Persons under ITAR or EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, or other surfacing-capable CAD software.
• Familiarity with Creo, Siemens NX, or CATIA.
• Experience in vehicle prototype manufacturing, motorsports, defense, or automotive industries.
• Knowledge of concept development, surface modeling, and prototype support workflows.
