TL;DR

What you will do

  • Assemble prototype mechanical, electronic, and satellite subsystem components according to drawings, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Support engineering builds from initial prototypes through production readiness, including parts preparation, kitting, tooling, and equipment setup.
  • Perform precision assembly, soldering, wire and harness preparation, connector installation, dimensional inspection, and electrical testing.
  • Support functional, vibration, thermal-vacuum, thermal-shock, and qualification testing.
  • Troubleshoot assembly, electronics, and test issues while providing practical feedback to Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Build or modify fixtures, tooling, and simple prototypes, operate 3D printers and workshop equipment, and improve manufacturing documentation and traceability.

Requirements

  • Technical or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electromechanics, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, prototyping, manufacturing, or testing.
  • Ability to read mechanical and assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Experience using precision hand tools and measurement equipment.
  • Strong hands-on skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision hardware in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • For the Canada role, successful candidates must obtain and hold reliability-status security clearance and pass Canadian Controlled Goods Program and ITAR security assessments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with torque-controlled assembly.
  • Experience in aerospace, space, medical, automotive, robotics, or other precision manufacturing environments.
  • J-STD-001 Class 3 certification.
  • Experience with environmental testing or qualification activities.
  • Knowledge of ESD, FOD control, clean-room practices, and hardware traceability.
