What you will do

  • Lead assigned major structures from conceptual design through final sizing, including structural architectures, interfaces, and systems integration.
  • Perform sizing across configurations and trade studies for primary and secondary metallic and composite structures.
  • Build stress-analysis tools, methodologies, calculation standards, and workflows for the structures and systems teams.
  • Run and contribute to design reviews while improving design processes and engineering methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Avionics, Systems Engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to ensure feasible, manufacturable, and compliant designs.
  • Represent structural stress engineering in program reviews, customer interactions, and supplier engagements.

  • Daily experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Altair.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, or NX.
  • Strong knowledge of metallic and composite materials, design-for-manufacturing trade-offs, and engineering tool development using Python or similar coding skills.
  • Ability to establish processes and standards in an emerging design organization.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an aerospace startup or advanced air mobility program.
  • Published technical work or patents in structural or aerospace design.
  • Knowledge of FAA, TCCA, EASA, or defence regulations beyond the primary certification basis.
  • Component-to-full-scale structural test support, flight-test or hardware-integration experience, and manufacturing, in-service, or flight-support experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on real defence capability for the Canadian Armed Forces and allied operators.
  • High-trust environment with short feedback loops, rapid iteration, and direct access to leadership.
  • Opportunity to influence standards and design decisions from the early platform-development stage.
  • Competitive base salary and company equity.
  • Comprehensive health benefits and additional equity based on impact; equity is available to full-time employees.
