Help Desk / Desktop Support Technician

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and work onsite at least three days per week

Compensation for the 3-month contract: $44,000–$76,000

What you will do

• Serve as the first point of contact for help desk issues, resolving or escalating requests.
• Provision and deprovision user accounts and laptops for employee onboarding and departures.
• Procure and deploy MacBook, ChromeOS, and Linux devices.
• Maintain device fleet updates, MDM enrollment, security baseline compliance, and corporate mobile/BYOD enrollment.
• Maintain conference room audio/video equipment and office networking.
• Track IT action items and projects, coordinate with other teams, and update documentation.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar role.
• Knowledge of Google Workspace administration, GitHub, Linux, basic networking, and security.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, written communication, and discretion with confidential information.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and work onsite in Mountain View at least three days per week.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly, take initiative, adapt to shifting priorities, and communicate clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience with MDM platforms for macOS and ChromeOS.
• Scripting or infrastructure-as-code experience with Bash, Python, or Terraform.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud IAM and group-based access management.
• Interest in AI infrastructure and hirify.global’s work.
