Field Application Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; willingness to travel to customer sites up to 25% of the time.

Base salary: $160,000–$230,000 annually, plus a 10% annual bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Present the technical value proposition to customer engineers and executives.
• Understand customer applications and system requirements, then propose Efficient-based solutions.
• Support customers throughout evaluation, board bring-up, design-in, debugging, optimization, and production.
• Build custom demos, proofs of concept, benchmarks, reference designs, application notes, and training materials.
• Partner with sales managers, distributors, representatives, and engineering teams to secure design wins and resolve escalations.
• Feed customer requirements, competitive insights, and application feedback into Product and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• At least 4 years of embedded software development experience and understanding of embedded hardware, including digital and analog circuits.
• Experience with ARM or RISC-V microcontrollers and proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Python experience for scripting, tooling, and test automation.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
• At least 2 years of supporting customer product development, preferably in semiconductor or MCU design-win environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded software, sensor fusion algorithms, edge AI models, and wireless modules or wireless SoCs.
• Background in industrial IoT, wearables, smart home, medical, or defense markets.
