Member of Technical Staff, System Software (Runtime & Firmware)

hirify.global is developing energy-efficient computing architecture for AI by mapping neural networks directly to semiconductor device physics.

What you will do

• Build runtime software for executing compiled AI models, including dispatch, data movement, and result readback on simulated systems and real silicon.
• Design bare-metal firmware for embedded processors, covering model execution, scheduling, device sequencing, calibration, boot, and flash paths.
• Develop host and device drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and robust protocols across the host-device boundary.
• Lead post-silicon software bring-up, operate test chips, and correlate measured hardware behavior with simulation models.
• Collaborate with AI, system modeling, hardware teams, and early customers to deploy and scale prototype platforms.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience in embedded firmware, driver development, or hardware-adjacent systems software.
• Experience bringing new or prototype silicon from power-on to running real workloads.
• Expertise in C/C++ on embedded processors, including interrupts, DMA, memory-mapped registers, and boot and flash paths.
• Experience developing Linux drivers and designing protocols over an imperfect physical link, with depth in PCIe, USB, UART, or SPI.
• Strong Python engineering, independent software versioning discipline, hardware debugging, and cross-functional technical communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI accelerator, NPU, or GPU runtimes and driver layers.
• Experience with microcode, instruction encodings, or control-flow sequencing for non-CPU compute engines.
• FPGA, RTL, SoC prototyping, PCIe, and host driver stack experience.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, virtualization, containerization, and hardware-attached services.
• Exposure to analog, mixed-signal, or physics-based computing.
