Senior Managing Producer (News Operations)

Location: New York, NY; must be willing to work onsite and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 yearly, bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Manage operational and scheduling needs for MS NOW weekend programs.
• Partner with weekend programming and executive leadership on operational, training, recruitment, and retention initiatives.
• Provide backup support to the VP of Weekend Programming and Executive Managing Producer of Weekend Editorial.
• Maintain a transparent and fair production and on-air scheduling system using Workschedule.net.
• Develop and deploy training programs to improve performance and retention across MS NOW news programs.
• Partner with leadership and HR to improve entry-level recruiting.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of news show leadership experience on a national cable or broadcast platform.
• Experience with show and editorial leadership, newsroom workflows, and people management.
• Strong research skills and news judgment.
• Experience in training or people management.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY and have unrestricted US work authorization.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including during breaking news and under tight deadline pressure.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree or studies in business administration or journalism.
• Experience developing or deploying workflows and processes within an existing organization.
• Entrepreneurial experience or interest.
