Assignment Editor and Producer-Temp

Location: Miami, FL; must be willing to work from the office in Miami

What you will do

• Research and produce daily story ideas for broadcast.
• Source content, monitor potential breaking news, and participate in coverage decisions for special news programs.
• Assign crews and provide the information required for story shoots and field coverage.
• Coordinate interviews, plan future coverage and prioritized events, and maintain communication with producers, field crews and agencies.
• Capture video feeds from the field and assist editors with troubleshooting.
• Work with reporters, assignment editors and newsroom managers to develop, approve and monitor story packages.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working on an assignment desk.
• Extensive experience and proven strategies for sourcing and sharing content through social media.
• Fluent Spanish, including reading and writing.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, type and sit for up to 8 hours.
