TL;DR
Senior Reliability Engineer (Robotics): Developing reliability strategies, testing, and lifetime models for integrated humanoid drive systems and robotic actuation sub-assemblies with an accent on mechatronic failure analysis, accelerated testing, and physics-based reliability modeling. Focus on designing dynamic stress-test rigs, predicting hardware lifetime under demanding field loads, and translating failure data into next-generation design improvements.

Location: Hybrid position based in Fremont, California, United States. All roles are U.S.-based, and applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States.

Anticipated base salary: $170,000–$221,000 USD per year.

Company

hirify.global develops commercially deployed humanoid robots for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers.

What you will do

  • Own reliability engineering for integrated humanoid drive systems and robotic actuation sub-assemblies.
  • Implement Design for Reliability methods, including DFMEA, FTA, component derating, reliability targets, and duty-cycle profiles.
  • Design and execute HALT, HASS, thermal shock, vibration, ingress protection, and accelerated endurance testing.
  • Build dynamic test rigs that simulate walking, payload lifting, landing impacts, and high-frequency robotic motion.
  • Apply Weibull analysis, accelerated-life models, and physics-of-failure methods to predict system lifetime.
  • Lead root cause analysis and convert telemetry, test failures, and field data into design improvements.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of reliability engineering experience with complex hardware systems.
  • Hands-on experience with mechatronic and electromechanical systems integrating structures, electronics, actuators, sensors, and control hardware.
  • Experience with Design for Reliability, FMEA, accelerated-life testing, reliability demonstration, reliability growth, component derating, and physics-of-failure analysis.
  • Experience with environmental and durability testing, statistical reliability methods, fatigue and life-prediction models, and failure-mechanism analysis.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, test data, material specifications, and supplier qualification reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, materials science, reliability engineering, or a related technical field; current U.S. work authorization required.

Nice to have

  • Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant technical field.
  • Proficiency with data-analysis, scripting, simulation, and engineering analysis tools.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work environment with cross-functional collaboration across design, controls, embedded software, manufacturing, quality, testing, and suppliers.
  • 401(k) plan with a 6% company match and company stock options.
  • Company-paid medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability insurance from the first day of employment.
  • Paid parental leave, flexible or paid time off depending on classification, and 12 company holidays including a winter shutdown.
  • Professional development, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance support, relocation assistance for eligible roles, and an annual discretionary bonus for eligible roles.
