Senior Director of Engineering, Technical Platform (AI)

Location: New York office, hybrid schedule with work from home and 3 office days

What you will do

• Lead the global Developer Platform and AI infrastructure capabilities supporting approximately 300 software and data engineers across four engineering pillars.
• Build and evolve self-service developer platforms and opinionated paved paths that reduce engineering friction and improve developer velocity.
• Define platform vision, roadmaps, success metrics, and product strategy in partnership with Product Management.
• Provide technical and strategic guidance for resilient data processing, storage, cloud infrastructure, and mission-critical SaaS integrations.
• Establish AI infrastructure, tooling, cost controls, security guardrails, and governance for production workloads and developer tools.
• Develop the engineering leadership tier across platform and IT teams while improving organizational maturity and talent mobility.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership, cloud infrastructure, and platform strategy.
• Experience leading platform engineering organizations supporting hundreds of software and data engineers across distributed teams.
• Strong technical depth in large-scale data processing pipelines, storage architectures, cloud platform services, and high-availability enterprise environments.
• Hands-on or strategic experience with AI/ML developer workflows, LLM infrastructure, or agentic developer tools.
• Experience aligning engineering, security, finance, product, and business stakeholders on cost governance and risk controls.
• Track record of building high-trust teams and developing engineering leaders.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare data compliance or regulated technical environments, including HIPAA or HITRUST.
• Experience shifting organizations toward platform-as-a-product or developer enablement models.
