Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote; listed locations include Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York, United States. hirify.global can hire in any country where it has a legal entity.

Base salary in the United States: $174,051–$227,233 for Zone C, $188,730–$246,398 for Zone B, or $209,700–$273,775 for Zone A, plus potential benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and coach engineers while supporting career growth and team health.
• Build an inclusive, collaborative, psychologically safe, and high-performing engineering culture.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to hire diverse engineering talent and maintain balanced team capacity.
• Own delivery across multiple customer-acquisition workstreams, making trade-offs between features, technical debt, reliability, and security.
• Improve agile processes, remove blockers, and increase developer velocity.
• Guide technical strategy, AEO methodologies, architecture, scalability, testing, CI/CD, documentation, code quality, and AI adoption.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
• 2+ years of experience managing engineering managers or leading senior/principal engineers.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong background in distributed systems, developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Experience with applied AI/ML systems, LLMs, AI agents, MCP tooling, RAG, or AI evaluation frameworks.
• Experience partnering with product managers, TPMs, and designers on product and platform strategy.
