Senior DevOps Engineer (Platform Operations, Security & Observability)

Location: Hybrid in New Haven, Connecticut, United States, with at least three days per week on-site; remote candidates may be considered.

Base pay: $125,000–$187,000 USD annually in New Haven.

What you will do

• Operate and improve AWS applications, shared infrastructure, on-premises environments, Kubernetes platforms, and software delivery pipelines.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and release processes, including deployment reliability, recovery, repository onboarding, access requests, and infrastructure self-service.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Bash.
• Strengthen security through access controls, secrets management, hardening, patching, security scanning, compliance evidence collection, and Vanta workflows.
• Improve monitoring, logging, dashboards, alerting, service instrumentation, production readiness, and incident-response runbooks.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis while collaborating with hardware, software, DevOps, and enterprise security teams; contribute to design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, systems engineering, site reliability engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience operating AWS infrastructure, Docker and Kubernetes workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills across applications and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar automation and troubleshooting languages.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, infrastructure security, monitoring, logging, technical prioritization, and incident resolution.
