DevOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Customer site in Fort Meade, Maryland, United States; onsite 5 days per week

Salary: $115,199–$160,000 per year. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available if hired as an hirify.global employee.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS, as well as on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure, including deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
• Automate deployment processes and improve service reliability, scalability, availability, and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve complex operational issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship while contributing hands-on to infrastructure work.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Must work onsite at the Fort Meade customer location 5 days per week and accommodate schedule changes.
• At least 5 years of DevOps engineering or software development experience with a related bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent education and experience combination.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, and infrastructure deployment and management.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, application and operating system deployment, Python, Bash, Go, Git, Flux, and Linux system administration.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, plus experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with EKS, Diode, CI/CD, containers, and Terraform.
