Senior Consultant, Industrial Designer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 gross annual base salary for full-time employment. Bonuses, incentives, and benefits are separate.

What you will do

• Define product value propositions, experience principles, product architectures, and design directions using user insight, business objectives, design research, and AI-augmented analysis.
• Own industrial design workstreams from discovery through development, including research, workshops, design sprints, user journeys, and client decision-making.
• Conceptualize and communicate physical product experiences through sketching, 3D CAD, renderings, mock-ups, storytelling, and AI-enabled visualization.
• Develop, prototype, test, and refine concepts considering usability, ergonomics, human factors, sustainable materials, manufacturing, assembly, color, materials, and finishes.
• Collaborate with strategy, research, digital design, data, engineering, suppliers, and client teams while mentoring junior designers.
• Contribute to proposals and pitches and advance responsible, AI-augmented industrial design practices.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional industrial design experience and a portfolio demonstrating highly developed design skills.
• Experience owning industrial design workstreams, collaborating in multifunctional teams, presenting recommendations, and advising clients.
• Proficiency in hand sketching, 3D CAD, visualization, rendering, mock-ups, physical and virtual prototyping, design research, user testing, and iterative development.
• Familiarity with AI and generative AI for research, analysis, ideation, visualization, workflow improvement, and solution development, plus responsible AI principles.
• Confident presentation and storytelling skills, business-level English, and the ability to mentor junior designers.
• A portfolio link or PDF is required; a degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related design or engineering discipline is beneficial.
