Design Lead (Parametric Models)

Location: South Jordan, Utah, USA; in-office at least 4–5 days per week

What you will do

• Design and build reference-quality 3D parametric models for a large customizable content library.
• Define parameter terminology, grouping, ranges, defaults, dependencies, presets, and user-facing controls.
• Ensure models remain producible across parameter ranges by accounting for tolerances, wall thickness, overhangs, supports, layer orientation, and material constraints.
• Create reusable templates, components, modeling standards, automation, scripting, and validation approaches.
• Direct external contractors by writing briefs, setting acceptance criteria, reviewing output, and managing quality and throughput.
• Partner with product and software teams on parametric controls in hirify.global apps and use AI tools to accelerate model production.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in parametric CAD and computational modeling, including constraints, dependencies, configurations, reusable geometry, and robust parameter ranges.
• Fluency with tools such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, Creo, Grasshopper, OpenSCAD, CadQuery, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of parametric UX, additive manufacturing, printability, industrial design, and visual design.
• Experience with scripting or CAD APIs, including Python, Grasshopper scripting, OpenSCAD, CadQuery, or similar.
• Experience directing external contractors or vendors through briefs, reviews, QA, acceptance criteria, and production standards.
• Ability to work in the South Jordan, Utah office at least 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Comfort with Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Interest in consumer creativity, crafting, making, or DIY; hirify.global familiarity is helpful.
