Lead Engineer (Multiskilled)

Location: On-site in Glenbervie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. A 28-day rotating pattern includes day, early, and night shifts, with 40 contracted hours per week and 7 consecutive days off in each rotation. Relocation support to Aberdeenshire is available.

What you will do

• Lead, organise, and prioritise engineering activity across the shift while remaining hands-on with maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across manufacturing equipment, plant, utilities, and site services.
• Provide day-to-day direction, technical support, and guidance to engineers on shift.
• Coordinate with Production and other site teams, including shift handovers and escalation of operational risks.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance safely and within required timescales.
• Maintain engineering, hygiene, site services, and audit documentation while supporting improvement projects and installations.

Requirements

• Formal engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or time-served experience in mechanical, electrical, or multiskilled engineering.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge with effective fault-finding capability.
• Experience maintaining equipment in manufacturing or a similarly fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, make sound decisions, and provide direction and technical support to engineers.
• Structured, pragmatic, and proactive approach to problem-solving, with strong attention to safety, quality, and engineering standards.
• Eligibility to live and work permanently in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in food or FMCG manufacturing.
• Knowledge of steam, pressure systems, utilities, site services, HACCP, permit systems, isolation procedures, or CMMS systems.
