Building Services Shift Manager

Location: Weighbridge Rd, Shirebrook, Mansfield, UK; onsite warehouse role with shift work, overtime, and on-call rota cover when required.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise Engineers and Support Technicians during warehouse shifts.
• Plan and prioritise planned maintenance, reactive tasks, engineering projects, and operational support.
• Coordinate responses to breakdowns, defects, leaks, lighting, doors, welfare facilities, yard issues, and other site faults.
• Act as the first escalation point for facilities and maintenance issues, ensuring temporary repairs, make-safe actions, and permanent fixes meet required standards.
• Manage rotas, attendance, performance, coaching, one-to-one meetings, and shift handovers.
• Monitor contractors, perform quality checks and inspections, maintain records in departmental systems, and support improvements to ways of working.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing planned and reactive maintenance in a warehouse or large-scale site environment.
• Strong electrical or mechanical engineering background, typically with 10+ years of experience.
• Relevant technical qualification such as Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or HND in Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing.
• Knowledge of building services and equipment including MHE, conveyors, dock doors, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire systems, and BMS.
• Experience with contractor management, fault escalation, shift planning, asset lifecycle management, CAFM systems, BMS, and Microsoft Office 365.
• Working knowledge of health and safety legislation, with IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent knowledge; 18th Edition electrical knowledge is preferred.

• Up-to-date 18th Edition electrical knowledge.
• Experience managing refurbishment and replacement of end-of-life equipment.
