Lead Forward Deployed Engineer

Location: United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the San Jose, California office

Compensation: $141,636–$362,760 USD total target compensation, depending on geographic zone

What you will do

• Own technical delivery for complex strategic customer accounts from deployment through scaled daily use.
• Lead deployments across cloud, on-premises, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Define solution architecture and adapt platform behavior to customer data, workflows, and risk models.
• Build integrations with identity systems, SIEM, ITSM, data platforms, APIs, and downstream tools.
• Diagnose deep technical issues and create reusable agents, automations, tools, and operational playbooks.
• Lead architecture sessions, mentor FDEs, and partner with Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering on strategic POCs and escalations.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, platform engineering, technical consulting, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript and the ability to understand unfamiliar code and complex systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience operating solutions across complex cloud, hybrid, and on-premises enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of APIs, system integration, SQL/NoSQL data stores, structured and unstructured data, and data security or privacy.
• Strong customer presence, critical thinking, ownership, and ability to structure ambiguous technical problems.

Nice to have

• Experience with DSPM, CSPM, DLP, data governance, privacy platforms, or related security domains.
• Experience with AI agents, agentic coding assistants, MCP, or RAG systems.
• Familiarity with GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, access control, encryption, or data masking.
• Experience mentoring senior technical contributors or setting delivery standards.
