Compliance and Documentation Lead (AI)

Location: USA - Remote; role is limited to candidates working from the United States.

Base salary: $179,000–$223,300 for Tier 1 locations (San Francisco, Seattle, NYC) or $165,000–$206,200 for Tier 2 locations elsewhere in the US. Equity and a 10% annual bonus may also be offered.

What you will do

• Own privacy assessments, DPIAs, transfer impact assessments, data-flow maps, records of processing, and vendor privacy reviews.
• Operate privacy controls covering retention, deletion, DSARs, consent, opt-outs, de-identification, and redaction.
• Own audit evidence and control mapping for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS, serving as the primary auditor contact during fieldwork.
• Manage security questionnaires, RFP security responses, answer libraries, and reusable evidence workflows with Security Engineering.
• Author internal policies, standards, Trust Center content, AI Safety statements, Model Cards, Privacy Policy content, and deployment documentation.
• Design auditing, remediation, training, and enablement workflows that keep public claims aligned with technical reality.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in privacy operations, GRC, security compliance, or technical compliance documentation, including end-to-end ownership of assessments or audits.
• Exceptional technical writing ability and experience producing documents accepted by auditors, enterprise customers, and engineers.
• Hands-on experience with at least one formal SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS audit, including producing and defending evidence.
• Applied knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging AI regulation.
• Technical fluency in architecture diagrams, cloud data flows, logs, retention settings, and compliance controls.
• Ability to work with Fortune 500 privacy teams, security reviewers, DPOs, Legal, Research, Security Engineering, and Solutions Engineering.

Nice to have

• CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/E, CISA, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor certification.
• Experience with Vanta, Drata, trust center tooling, AI governance frameworks, or model documentation.
• Experience with ML/AI data pipelines, training-data governance, SaaS plus self-hosted deployments, SQL, scripting, or agentic tooling.
• Exposure to HIPAA or FedRAMP.
