Sr. Engineer, Controls & Automation

Location: Onsite in Casa Grande, Arizona, United States. Company-paid relocation package available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $92,400–$141,000 per year, plus performance bonus or variable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Support daily manufacturing operations and resolve controls, robotics, automation, and equipment issues.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for PLCs, HMIs, robotics, machine vision systems, industrial networks, and automated equipment.
• Develop, maintain, and improve Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and CompactLogix systems.
• Configure and support Ignition HMI/SCADA applications and optimize a fleet of more than 90 FANUC industrial robots.
• Lead automation, continuous improvement, capital equipment, commissioning, startup, validation, and operator training projects.
• Maintain controls standards, documentation, electrical drawings, programming standards, and machine safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 3 years of experience in controls engineering, automation engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related role.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation Logix5000 platforms, industrial robotics, HMI/SCADA development, and manufacturing troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, IOLink, BACNet, and Modbus TCP, plus mechanical aptitude in machine design, tooling, pneumatics, motion systems, and automated equipment.
• Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar CAD platforms.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ignition, machine vision systems, Beckhoff controls, machine safety systems, risk assessments, and safety PLCs.
• Experience with 3D printing, fixture design, rapid prototyping, and high-volume automated manufacturing.
