Associate Project Engineer (Automation)

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; onsite at the SEL corporate office

Salary: $84,000–$124,000 per year

What you will do

• Train and assist customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.
• Collaborate with the project team to assign, complete, and implement work within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Support the preparation and presentation of proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems.
• Work with automation software, industrial controls, PLCs, IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus, Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and SCADA practices.
• Travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time based on the assigned focus area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration, automation, communications applications, and protective relay applications.
• Knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and related engineering applications.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for a minimum of 25% of the role.

Nice to have

• Experience in an electrical utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering firm, or system integrator.
• Project management experience.
• Working knowledge of Vision or another project management tracking system.
