Heavy Duty EV Technician (Electric Vehicles)

hirify.global's Vocational segment designs and manufactures refuse trucks, electric refuse collection vehicles, fire apparatus, airport rescue vehicles, service vehicles, and command trucks.

What you will do

• Install, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and test special systems on McNeilus Volterra electric refuse collection vehicles.
• Build new products, perform first-time detail-part installations, and modify bodywork layouts.
• Diagnose and rework high-voltage systems, conduct coolant line pressure testing, and maintain safety around high-voltage and high-pressure systems.
• Provide design and process feedback and support the development of long-term manufacturing build processes.
• Train and demonstrate system operation to assembly teams and conduct final inspections.
• Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts while following build schedules independently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least five years of mechanical experience in automotive or machinery applications.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and layouts.
• Advanced troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.
• Applicants may need to be U.S. Persons for positions involving controlled goods and technologies under ITAR or EAR.

Nice to have

• Ten or more years of mechanical experience.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards, Microsoft Office, hydraulic systems, electrical programming, and 3D models.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, engineering drawings, low-voltage controls, and 12/24-volt systems.
• Written troubleshooting documentation skills and strong electrical aptitude.
