Intern Engineering Designer - Water

What you will do

• Create conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering drawings, including plan and profile drawings, for water and wastewater projects.
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, specifications, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and functional plans.
• Perform design calculations and analysis for sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and watermains.
• Support permits, approvals, contract administration, construction inspections, and project delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors on industry standards and shop drawings.
• Contribute to proposals, time-task matrices, and multiple projects across different phases.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or MicroStation is an asset.
• Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new software, design guidelines, standards, planning processes, and environmental assessment processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage time, and prioritize work under tight deadlines.
• Integrity and demonstrated collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team.

Nice to have

• Experience with ArcGIS.
• Experience with Environmental Assessment.
