Utilities Engineer (Sustainability)

Location: Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite role for US and Puerto Rico residents

Salary: $75,000–$108,333 per year

What you will do

• Support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of central utility mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
• Review new projects interfacing with site utilities, including design reviews, maintenance plans, commissioning, and capital project approvals.
• Manage utility system modifications and preventive maintenance reviews to improve reliability, uptime, efficiency, and compliance.
• Develop and execute site sustainability programs aligned with hirify.global Planet Care strategies, including CO2, energy, and water initiatives.
• Support HSE management systems, regulatory compliance, documentation, and ISO 50001 and sustainability audits.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations, global departments, and third-party contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 1 year of experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, QA, engineering, utilities engineering, or a related field; co-op and internship experience are considered.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical system drawings.
• Understanding of mechanical and thermodynamic engineering principles.
• Knowledge of utility systems at large industrial sites, including boilers, chillers, and related infrastructure.
• Knowledge of power distribution equipment, utility automation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and project management.
