Supervisor, Operations (Manufacturing)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; onsite production role with overtime and occasional Saturdays required

Salary: CAD 75,000–100,000 per year

Company

Manufactures aerospace and defense systems including helicopter securing and traversing systems, marine hangar doors, sonar handling systems, towed line array systems, and aviation support equipment.

What you will do

• Supervise production personnel manufacturing custom products to engineering specifications, quality requirements, budget constraints, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate production planning, material availability, resource allocation, labor requirements, and workflow across support functions.
• Lead employee communication, safety meetings, onboarding, performance coaching, and staff development.
• Use lean manufacturing and practical problem-solving methods to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, equipment, tooling, and preventive maintenance.
• Manage attendance, overtime, trade qualifications, departmental budget input, and personnel matters involving the union and collective agreement.
• Maintain safe operations through workplace inspections, incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and safe-work procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of related supervisory experience in a production environment.
• Experience with computerized ERP systems, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand electronic, mechanical, and other manufacturing processes.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system and ensuring workmanship meets customer and design requirements.
• Understanding of OSHA and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, with the ability to provide competent frontline supervision.
• Ability to work within the existing collective agreement and work overtime, including occasional Saturdays.
