MFG Test Development Software Engineer (Manufacturing Test Automation)

Location: Santa Clara, California; primarily in-office work from the Santa Clara office is required

Salary: $170,000–$255,000 USD annual base salary, with potential incentive pay and/or equity

What you will do

• Architect and execute functional testing strategies from PCBA/L6 through system-level/L10 across all NPI stages.
• Design, build, and deploy standardized manufacturing test software and automation frameworks for hardware test stations and production racks.
• Partner with Test Infrastructure, Design Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to improve test coverage, production efficiency, and product reliability.
• Lead root-cause debugging of complex hardware failures using lab instrumentation.
• Build high-availability database systems for capturing and analyzing high-throughput manufacturing telemetry.
• Create test requirements, validation reports, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides for global contract manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in PCBA/L6 and system-level/L10 manufacturing test processes and functional test development.
• Experience with enterprise server or storage architectures.
• Advanced software engineering skills in Python or equivalent languages, including automated test scripts and backend database systems.
• Experience transforming ambiguous technical requirements into production-grade applications.
• Strong hardware root-cause analysis, cross-functional leadership, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work primarily from the Santa Clara office.
