Test Software Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop, deploy, and maintain automated test software for spacecraft subsystems and system-level verification.
• Create and maintain automated functional, performance, and stress tests, including SITL and HITL tests.
• Build reusable Python libraries, packages, scripts, and tools for workflow optimization, data analysis, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop LabVIEW and NI TestStand applications, sequence files, step modules, operator interfaces, and reporting configurations.
• Integrate test applications with hardware interfaces, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Support debugging, troubleshooting, configuration management, and technical communication with cross-functional teams and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience with Python scripting and hands-on experience developing test automation software in NI LabVIEW.
• Experience with NI TestStand for automated sequencing, execution, and data logging.
• Proficiency in Linux, shell scripting, and command-line workflows, plus experience with Agile methodologies and issue-tracking tools.
• Experience developing test software for complex systems such as spacecraft, aircraft, autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or embedded systems.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance are required. The role is also subject to U.S. space technology export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Git, SDLC best practices, embedded systems, object-oriented programming, and packaging Python applications.
• Experience with documentation, configuration management, and custom LabVIEW libraries, drivers, or frameworks.
• Familiarity with power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.
• Experience integrating LabVIEW/TestStand systems with CI/CD pipelines or mixed-language environments.
