Associate Technician, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Field

Location: Berlin, CT, United States. Required travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire; emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal hours and locations.

Annual salary: $64,700.00–$71,890.00, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Update and maintain land-base and distribution-facility data in the geographic database.
• Interpret as-built records, construction sketches, work-management data, and subdivision plats using standard company symbology.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve field changes and field-to-map discrepancies.
• Validate topology, connectivity, snapping, feature objects, attributes, and parent-child associations.
• Conduct field audits and Mobile GIS data collection to validate as-built distribution configurations.
• Perform GIS data QA/QC, application testing, and training as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in GIS, surveying, cartography, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Zero to three years of utility distribution experience in GIS and CAD fields.
• Working knowledge of GIS/CAD applications such as Smallworld, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and ESRI.
• Ability to read road and development site plans and interpret mapping coordinates and symbols.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Visa or immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
