Electrical and Instrument Technician

Location: Chester, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite plant work. Must work rotating shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call periods as required.

Salary: $73,807–$101,445 base pay annually.

What you will do

• Manage preventive, corrective, emergency, and warranty maintenance for electrical and control equipment throughout the plant.
• Identify, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and document electrical, instrumentation, and control system malfunctions.
• Operate and maintain instrument and control testing, calibration, and repair areas and equipment.
• Install and test new equipment in accordance with safety standards and perform predictive analysis of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Support redesigns of instrumentation, control, and electrical systems and assist the maintenance department with additional assignments.
• Help maintain safe, clean, and efficient facility operations, including monitoring burning when required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with electronic, electrical, and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent and/or formal technical training.
• Required familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers and Distributed Control Systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing instrumentation and controls, including pressure, flow, temperature, and other sensing instruments, primarily Rosemount.
• Ability to use multimeters and smart calibrators, read electrical prints and P&IDs, and troubleshoot OMRON and Allen Bradley PLC hardware and logic.
• Must work rotating shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays; physical work includes lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights and in confined spaces, wearing a full-face respirator, and working in varied weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Energy-from-waste or power plant experience.
• Experience with Citect operator interface systems, including graphic screens, ci-code, alarm and trend tags.
• Experience troubleshooting Ethernet communications in plant control systems.
