Location: Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom; hybrid working arrangements available.

Salary: from £5,982.74 per month after tax, excluding personal pension and insurance contributions.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver the long-term strategy for the hirify.global-EBI training portfolio in alignment with hirify.global-wide goals.
• Identify emerging scientific areas and AI-driven opportunities for data-science training.
• Lead and develop the hirify.global-EBI Training team, fostering service quality and professional excellence.
• Build collaborative relationships across hirify.global-EBI, hirify.global, ELIXIR, and international organisations.
• Strengthen global capacity-building initiatives focused on open, FAIR, and inclusive data science.
• Oversee hirify.global-EBI contributions to external training programmes, including courses and conferences.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in life sciences, engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in advanced scientific or technical training leadership.
• Strong record of delivering high-quality training across academia, industry, government, and the public sector.
• Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects and securing external funding.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Collaborative style with the ability to inspire resilience, integrity, and adaptability through change.

Nice to have

• Network of contacts in scientific and technical training, life-science funding, and policy.
• Experience with evaluation and impact analysis.
• Working knowledge of learning management systems and training platforms.
