Director, AP Chinese Language and Culture, Curriculum and Assessment (Chinese Language)

Location: Remote in the United States; employees near hirify.global offices may choose fully remote or hybrid work with Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office. Occasional business travel is required, including 6–8 trips per year and up to two additional weeks for AP Reading.

Salary: $96,000–$135,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead curriculum, assessment, and scoring development for AP Chinese Language and Culture.
• Author, revise, review, and manage formative and summative assessment content and exam forms.
• Train and supervise Test Development Committee members and collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and internal AP teams.
• Use generative AI responsibly to improve assessment authoring, review, fairness, validity, and efficiency.
• Lead annual AP Reading activities, including scoring operations, reader training, and publication development.
• Support course framework improvements, teacher resources, professional learning, higher-education engagement, and strategic program growth.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Chinese Language or a directly related discipline; a doctorate is strongly preferred.
• Native-to-near-native fluency in Chinese required.
• At least five years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, collaboration, proofreading, and project management skills.
• Experience with digital assessment and teaching is preferred.
• Must be authorized and eligible to work in the United States.
