TL;DR
Test Engineer II (Aerospace): Developing and executing complex test plans, procedures, and verification activities for aerospace and defense mission systems with an accent on requirements coverage, system integration, and compliance validation. Focus on evaluating communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance equipment, troubleshooting defects, and documenting verification results.

Location: Southern Pines, North Carolina, United States. Work is performed in an office, laboratory, hangar, or offsite environment; occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

  • Evaluate system requirements and create structured test plans and test cases aligned with customer requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test cases across the product lifecycle, from early design through post-production follow-up.
  • Conduct system testing of communication, computing, navigation, surveillance, and other mission equipment.
  • Troubleshoot customer and user defects, report deficiencies, and document their resolution.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on requirements validation and systems integration.
  • Create data-driven documentation demonstrating verification and validation of system requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in test engineering or a related role.
  • Proficiency in test and evaluation principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary design and development teams, requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
  • Experience planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation activities, including complex test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Current and active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with testing equipment, standards, and manual or automated testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with product and quality assurance principles and product non-conformance processes.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and apply logical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong written communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
