Client Office Phlebotomist-Part-time Days KA

Location: Client site in Wood River, Illinois, United States. Part-time, 29 hours per week. Required schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, and other laboratory specimen collections according to applicable standards and procedures.
• Receive physician orders, enter laboratory tests accurately, verify result receipt, and retrieve patient information across multiple systems.
• Process, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, package, and transport specimens while maintaining sample stability and integrity.
• Provide patient communication and post-phlebotomy care while applying patient-safety practices.
• Monitor refrigerator temperatures and quality-control records, report issues, and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Handle laboratory reception, clerical, inventory, filing, equipment sanitization, biohazard waste, and related documentation duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nationally recognized phlebotomy certification, phlebotomy-school or medical-institution training, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
• Ability to work the specified daytime schedule at the Wood River, Illinois client site.
• Strong patient-service, communication, teamwork, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to follow safety, regulatory, biohazard, quality-control, and organizational procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with a broad range of patient types.
• Experience processing and transferring specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
